ILAUGH Curriculum (Michelle Garcia Winner)
Meet in the Music uses the ILAUGH Model of Social Thinking as a foundation for topics covered during camp. This curriculum incorporates social skills and creative arts through modeling, direct instruction, fun, repetition, and practice.
Themes covered during Meet In the Music Day Camp include:
These themes provide our campers with concrete resources for navigating challenging emotions and everyday social interactions. Campers are given opportunities to practice and integrate these social concepts through discussions, songs, instrument play, games, and movement experiences. An informational flyer of materials covered each day is provided in order to continue using these themes at home!
Creative Arts Team:
Twin Cities Music Therapy Services is lucky to have a talented, multidimensional team! Staff music therapist Mike LimBybliw, MT-BC, is also a POUND fitness instructor and will lead campers in an energetic drumming fitness class. Additionally, Director of Therapeutic Lessons, Ian Crawford, MT-BC, is also a Registered Yoga Instructor. He will be creating a fun, imaginative yoga flow to center campers and get us moving. By incorporating these big movement experiences into our day, we prepare our brains for more information coming in, and get out any wiggles we may have!
Fees and Funding:
We are able to receive payment through Consumer Directed Community Supports (CDCS) Waivers, Consumer Support Grant, and Family Support Grant in addition to private pay for camp fees.
